Ingredients:
2 cups self raising flour
2 tblsp. cocoa
1 tsp. bi-carb soda
1 cup castor sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 cup milk
1 egg
1/3 cup shortening
vanilla
Place dry ingredients into mixing bowl
Add sugars, very soft shortening, vanilla and milk.
Beat on Stir-Mix speed for 2 minutes
Scrape bowl and beaters
Add egg and beat for 1 minutes on Stir-Mix speed.
Pour into 2 8 in. layer cake tins.
Bake in a moderate hot oven 25-35 minutes.
Fill and ice when cold with your favourite frosting.
